Google Pixel 8 Pro passes durability test, clears bend test where iPhone 15 Pro Max failed

Google has recently unveiled its latest smartphone series in the form of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Being touted as the best new Android flagship, the Pixel 8 Pro comes with numerous advanced features and improvements.

The pre-order phase for the Pixel 8 Pro has already begun, and the official launch for general sale isn't far. Significantly, Google promises a whopping seven years of software updates for this device, which is another a unique selling proposition of the device.

Google Pixel 8 Pro Durability Test

Zack Nelson, a popular YouTuber from the JerryRigEverything channel, recently put the Google Pixel 8 Pro through a series of durability tests. And fans of the Pixel will appreciate the results.

There were no cracks in the antenna lines either, which was a common issue with last year's Pixel 7 Pro. During the scratch test, it performed exactly the way one would expect it to i.e., "scratches at a level six with deeper grooves at a level seven".

The in-display fingerprint reader also worked perfectly after all the torture. The test also confirmed that the phone indeed has metallic frames. The glass on the back panel also passed the scratch test with ease.

Pixel 8 Pro vs iPhone 15 Pro Max

The video shows the Google Pixel 8 Pro passing all the tests, proving the device's superior build quality and toughness. The Pixel 8 Pro passed the bend test without any problems. Compared to the newly launched iPhone 15 Pro Max that failed this test, the Pixel 8 Pro stood firm when pressure was applied.

To recall, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature a Titanium frame and ceramic shield, which is touted to be the toughest smartphone glass. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro features an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and back.
