Well, we are expecting Google to launch its new flagships or rather the successors to the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones sometime in October, most probably on the 5 if you go by the recent tip provided by popular tipster Evan Blass.

Google Pixel XL 2 to come with a 5.99-inch OLED display

Thus as we get closer to the launch, many rumors and leaks have surfaced as well as new ones are starting to appear online. However, lately, we have been hearing reports about the upcoming smartphone's design a lot. There have already been several reports last week and now yet again we have come across another one.

So basically, the new reports now hint that the upcoming Google Pixel 2 XL might come with bezel-less display whereas the Pixel 2 will retain the same design language as its predecessor. Further, the Pixel 2 XL is expected to come with a 5.99-inch QHD OLED display. As for the Pixel 2, it is expected to feature a 4.97-inch Full HD OLED display with large bezels.

Amidst this development, the rumors about Pixel 2 device with bezel-less display have already been doing rounds in the rumor mill for some time now. And further, images of the alleged Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 had also been leaked earlier. Interestingly, the images showed a display with larger bezels in Pixel 2 and almost a bezel-less display in PIxel XL 2. So it holds some credibility to what we have said above.

Apart from the display, it has been suggested that the audio port will not be included in the Pixel 2 as well as the Pixel 2 XL. Well, if it happens, the company will be following Apple's path of doing away with the headphone jack. Some users do prefer the audio jack and it is convenient when you want to connect a headphone directly instead of getting an extra adapter to connect the headphone through the USB port.

The upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is also expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 chipset. Apart from that, we know for sure that the smartphones with be running on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo which was launched by Google on 21 August.

And talking about the manufacturers, if you recall, last year the Pixel and Pixel XL were made by HTC solely. But this time Google will be working with two phone makers. One will be HTC and the company will continue to make the Pixel 2. Google's Pixel 2 XL will be made by LG this time.
