After having kick-started 2016 by updating their A series of smartphones, Samsung is now eager to give the same treatment to their J lineup. Just to recall the Korean Electronics giant launched the Samsung J3, J5 and J7 smartphones in India last year.
Samsung has, in fact already launched the 2016 edition of one of their J series phones namely the Galaxy J1. Well, the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) is on sale, at least in Dubai. Today a new report by GSMArena has unearthed the specs of the upcoming device, and it's from a rather unconventional source - the Kernel source.
According to the report the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) is tipped to sports a 5.5 inch Full HD (1920x1080p) panel. Previously leaked benchmark listing of the Galaxy J7 reveal that the display is a Super AMOLED one. Besides that the Galaxy J7 (2016) is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC, which is apparently a renamed Snapdragon 618 chip.
The Kernel code also reveals some vital information regarding the camera prowess of the smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with a 13MP rear camera utilising a Samsung S5K3L2XX sensor. There is also a 5MP selfie snapper which makes use of Samsung S5K5E3YX sensor with a pixel size of 1.1µm.
Details regarding the launch date or the pricing of the smartphone aren't available, as of yet.
