HMD Fusion Venom Edition Officially Teased in Partnership with Marvel's "Venom: The Last Dance"

The HMD Fusion was introduced at IFA 2024 last month. This smartphone is compatible with Smart Outfits, which are interchangeable cases that enhance its features. It boasts an IP52-rated build and can be repaired using an iFixit kit.

Now, the brand has officially teased a special edition variant in collaboration with Marvel's Venom: The Last Dance movie. The HMD Fusion Venom Edition was teased in an X post by HMD, showcasing a collaboration with Marvel's Venom: The Last Dance, set to hit theatres on October 25.

The tagline for this edition is "the Ultimate Symbiotic Phone." While the design may feature elements inspired by the film, other specifications are expected to remain unchanged from the standard version.

HMD Fusion Specifications and Pricing

The HMD Fusion is priced at EUR 249 (approximately Rs. 24,000). It features a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1,612 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The phone runs on Android 14 and is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded up to 1TB via a microSD card.

For optics, the HMD Fusion offers a dual rear camera setup comprising a 108-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front-facing camera includes a robust 50-megapixel sensor. Powering the device is a substantial 5,000mAh battery that supports fast charging at 33W through wired connections.

Smart Outfits for Enhanced Functionality

The HMD Fusion supports interchangeable covers known as Smart Outfits that add various functionalities to the phone. For example, the Flashy Outfit comes with an integrated ring light suitable for both front and back cameras, controlling mood lighting among other features.

Connectivity options on the HMD Fusion include Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, OTG support, USB Type-C port, and Wi-Fi capabilities. For security purposes, it incorporates a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Additionally, the Rugged Outfit offers IP68 protection along with wireless charging support and an emergency (ICE) button.
