Honor Magic 8, Magic 8 Pro Launching in China Today: Expected Price, Specs, and Features
Honor is set to unveil its latest flagship lineup, the Magic 8 series, in China today (October 15). The lineup will include the Honor Magic 8 and Honor Magic 8 Pro, both succeeding last year’s Magic 7 models.
Ahead of the official reveal, several details have already surfaced through company teasers and early listings.
Two Models with Updated Design and Color Options
Both smartphones will be available in two new finishes: Golden Clouds at Dawn and Azure Glaze (translated from Chinese). The Magic 8 series continues Honor’s focus on curved panels and symmetrical design, paired with its custom software interface, MagicOS 10, built on Android 16.
The new software version is expected to refine UI transitions, system animations, and device connectivity, while aligning with Google’s Android 16 feature set.
Expected Pricing Based on Previous Generation
Honor has not announced pricing yet, but the Magic 8 lineup is expected to remain close to the Magic 7 series in positioning. For reference, the Honor Magic 7 started at CNY 4,499 (around ₹53,100) for the 12GB + 256GB configuration, while the Magic 7 Pro began at CNY 5,699 (around ₹67,300).
The Magic 8 series is likely to follow a similar pricing structure at launch, with availability beginning in China before expanding to global markets later this year.
Hardware: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Up to 1TB Storage
Both models in the Magic 8 lineup are expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 1TB of onboard storage. The Magic 8 will reportedly feature a 6.58-inch 1.5K LTPO flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4320Hz PWM dimming, while the Magic 8 Pro may include a 6.71-inch 1.5K quad-curved screen with uniform bezels.
Camera Configurations and Battery Details
According to information from industry sources, the Magic 8 may carry a triple-camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel telephoto unit with 3x optical zoom. A 50-megapixel front camera is also expected.
The Magic 8 Pro may include a 200-megapixel telephoto sensor, along with 50-megapixel primary and ultra-wide lenses. Both models are expected to feature 50-megapixel front cameras.
Battery capacities are another major highlight: the Magic 8 could pack a 7,000mAh unit with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging, while the Pro variant may ship with a 7,200mAh battery supporting 120W fast charging.
Launch Details and Availability
The Honor Magic 8 series will be introduced in China today. The company is expected to confirm official pricing, sale dates, and regional availability during the event. A global rollout is anticipated later this year following the domestic release.
