Honor's Magic V2 Set for Global Launch at IFA 2023, Joined by Another Mystery Foldable

Following the recent launch of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5, Honor has now unveiled its plans to release the Honor Magic V2, a book-style foldable phone, in markets outside of China. The announcement coincides with the distribution of invitations for Honor's upcoming IFA 2023 event, signaling a wider release for the Honor Magic V2. Additionally, another foldable device will be unveiled at the event.

Thin and Lightweight Design

The Honor Magic V2 stands out as the thinnest book-style foldable available, measuring just 9.9mm in thickness. Remarkably lightweight, the vegan leather variant weighs only 231 grams, while the glass back model weighs slightly more at 237 grams. The phone was initially launched in China in July 2023 and will now be brought to global markets through the IFA Keynote.

Impressive Display

The Honor Magic V2 has a 7.92-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support, which can reach peak brightness levels of up to 1600 nits, providing an immersive viewing experience. The cover display of the Magic V2 is a 6.43-inch LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 2,500 nits.

Powerful Performance

Powering the Honor Magic V2 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, paired with 16GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance for multitasking and demanding tasks.

The device operates on MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13, and it is expected to have GApps support since Honor is not subject to the US sanctions imposed on Huawei.

Impressive Camera Capabilities

The phone features a triple rear camera setup, headlined by a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Accompanying it is a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a 20MP sensor with 2.5X optical zoom. For selfies, there's a 16MP sensor with HDR support.

Robust Battery and Fast Charging

The Honor Magic V2 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery supporting 66W wired fast charging, ensuring extended usage and quick charging capabilities. Additionally, wireless charging is available for added convenience.

Connectivity Options

Connectivity options of the Honor Magic V2 include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and an infrared sensor.

The Mystery Foldable Phone
