HTC U23 Pro 5G Announced: HTC Launches Premium Android Smartphone With FHD 120Hz OLED Screen, SD7 G1 SoC

HTC has unveiled the HTC U23 Pro. The premium Android smartphone is a surprising offering from the company that has been launching budget devices. The U23 Pro packs a Full HD+ OLED screen, Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, and much more.

After launching a few HTC Wildfire smartphones, which fall in the budget or affordable Android smartphone segment, HTC has announced the HTC U23 Pro. Let's check out the specifications, features, price, and availability of the premium Android smartphone from HTC.

HTC U23 Pro Specifications, Features

The HTC U23 Pro is a 5G-enabled Android smartphone with a 6.7" Full HD+ OLED display. The 1080p screen has a 120Hz refresh rate and a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus for protection.

The U23 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which is paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Buyers get 256GB of internal storage space in both variants. The smartphone also has a dedicated microSD card slot for expanding onboard storage.

HTC has embedded a quadruple-camera setup on the back of the HTC U23 Pro. There's a 108MP primary camera with OIS support, which is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.

The HTC U23 Pro packs a 4600mAh battery, which supports 30 wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. It also offers reverse wireless charging. Some of the notable connectivity options on the smartphone include 5G support, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, NFC, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The U23 Pro has IP67 certification for dust and water resistance. It runs Android 13 out of the box. The HTC smartphone ships preloaded with the VIVERSE app and the device is compatible with the VIVE XR Elite mixed reality headset. Buyers have to purchase the VR headset separately though.

HTC U23 Pro 5G Price, Availability

HTC has launched the U23 Pro 5G in two colors. The price of the base variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage is TWD16,990 ($550/€510/INR45,505). The top-end variant with 12GB RAM + 256GB internal storage is TWD17,990 ($585/€540/INR48,185).

The HTC U23 Pro 5G is currently available only in Taiwan and that too via its official website. HTC is yet to confirm the availability of the U23 Pro 5G in other markets outside Taiwan.
