Huawei Mate X3 Teaser Hints at Lightweight Foldable With Slim Design

The Huawei Mate X3 foldable phone will debut in China on March 23 this year. Ahead of the smartphone's launch, the brand has teased the handset's design.

The smartphone-maker is also gearing up to unveil the P60 series of phones alongside the Mate X3. Huawei's launch event is scheduled to start at 2:30pm in China, which translates to 12pm IST.

The teaser images shared by Huawei on Weibo showcase the upcoming Mate X3's design. The brand states that the foldable device is "light as a feather, firm as a rock," hinting that the Huawei Mate X3 will be lightweight and durable.

Going by the image, the upcoming Mate X3 will have an inward folding mechanism, similar to its predecessor, the Huawei Mate X2 and the Galaxy Z Fold. To recall, the Mate X2 debuted back in February 2021.

It is reported that the Huawei Mate X3 will feature a drop-resistant panel made of Kunlun glass. The brand claims that the glass has an extremely high-impact resistance, making the phone highly durable.

The Huawei Mate X3 is rumored to feature a new graphene-based heat dissipation system which will reduce the smartphone's overall weight. According to reports, the device may also get two-way satellite SMS communication.

The Mate X3 could come with the latest HarmonyOS 2.0.1. Rumors indicate that the upcoming foldable device could be equipped with a Kirin 9000 4G processor. In addition, it could be powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging.

Huawei Mate X2 Recap

The Huawei Mate X2, which precedes the upcoming Mate X3, debuted in China in February 2021. The smartphone was priced at CNY 17,999 (around ₹2,15,000) for the model with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

The Mate X2 is powered by an octa-core Kirin 9000 processor, paired with a Mali-G78 GPU. The handset features a 4,500mAh battery with support for 55W fast charging.
