Huawei has quietly added a new smartphone to its portfolio. Dubbed as Nova 2 Lite, it is a mid-range smartphone which comes with decent specifications considering the price point. The smartphone has been launched in Philippines, where it will go on sale on March 23 at PHP 9,990 (approximately Rs. 12,500). There is no information on the phone's global availability, as of now.
Talking about the specifications, the Huawei Nova 2 Lite has couple of highlights. First, it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 right out of the box. Second, the smartphone sports the trending 18:9 display with minimal bezels. Finally, the Nova 2 Lite boasts a dual camera setup on its back.
As stated, the smartphone is fitted with a large 5.99-inch HD+ IPS display with the aspect ratio of 18:9 and screen resolution of 720×1440 pixels. Under the hood, the Nova 2 Lite makes use of an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The smartphone offers 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The storage space is expandable up to 128GB using a micro-SD car.
The dual rear camera setup on the Nova 2 Lite comprises of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. It also features an 8MP selfie camera, which unfortunately comes sans a LED flash. Notably, the smartphone has Face Unlock support. The device gets its power from a standard 3,000mAh battery.
Huawei's latest offering has connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, and a Micro-USB port. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and a fingerprint sensor. The Nova 2 Lite flaunts a metal unibody design and comes in Black and Blue color options.
Huawei is also currently gearing up the launch for its flagship P20 lineup. The P20 series is said to include the P20, P20 Pro and P20 Lite. The smartphones will get unveiled on March 27 at an event in Paris, France.
