Huawei smartphone spotted on TENAA with whopping 256GB internal storage
Some reports suggest that this Huawei phone could be the upcoming flagship P20 Pro, but the chances are unlikely.
Huawei seems to be working on a smartphone with whopping 512GB internal storage. A Huawei handset with model number NEO-AL00 has been spotted on TENAA certification site. The TENAA listing has revealed that the smartphone has 6GB of RAM coupled with 512GB of native storage space.
At the moment, there's no other information available regarding the device. Some reports suggest that this Huawei phone could be the upcoming flagship P20 Pro, but the chances are unlikely. While the phone has been certified by TENAA, we don't think its launch is imminent.
Do note that the Huawei doesn't have the technology yet to produce 512GB memory chips. However, the company could order the chips from Samsung, which had announced the launch of a 512GB embedded universal flash storage (eUFS) solution. Samsung had also said that it is ready for mass production.
In any case, if Huawei manages to launch a smartphone with 512GB storage, it will create a benchmark for other smartphone manufacturers. Currently, 256GB is the limit. The Mate 9 Porsche Design and Mate 10 Porsche Design come with internal 256GB storage space.
As mentioned earlier, some reports claim that the P20 Pro may have a 512GB variant. According to WinFuture's report though, the smartphone will feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB of default storage space. There are some speculations that Huawei could launch a special variant of the smartphone with 512GB.
In related news, the P20 Pro is expected to come with a triple rear camera setup. A recent leak has one of the sensors will be equipped with a 40MP RGB lens. The rear camera is also said to feature a 20MP Monochrome lens, and an 8MP Telephoto lens.
Talking about other specifications, the P20 Pro is likely to sport a 6.1 inch OLED display with 2,240×1,080 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, it could be powered by a Kirin 970 processor.
In terms of design, the P20 Pro seems to sport a design akin to the iPhone X. It will have a full-screen bezel-less display with a notch at the top.
