Huawei Y91 With iPhone-like Notch Launched
The Huawei Nova Y91 has gone official featuring some interesting design choices and hardware under the hood. Huawei, which has been banned from using the latest chipsets from American companies like Qualcomm, has been focusing on releasing mid-range and entry-level smartphones using its old hardware, and for the most part, it works. Only, they are only available in mainland China.
The Nova Y91's most distinctive feature is a rather large iPhone-like notch in the display. This isn't the water drop or the U-shaped notches we see on phones these days. It's the full-sized ones seen in the iPhones sans the front camera array.

Huawei Nova Y91 Specifications and Features
The Huawei Nova Y91 features a large 6.95-inch FHD+ display with 1080x2376 pixels resolution. It's an LCD panel that comes with a 90Hz refresh rate and 270Hz touch sampling rate. The latter will be useful for gamers. The Nova Y91 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC coupled with 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB on board storage.
The killer feature of this phone is the battery under the hood. The Huawei Nova Y91 comes with a gigantic 7,000mAh battery. However, there's no fast charging and relies on a 22.5W charger out of the box.
The smartphone also feautres a rather large camera island at the back housing two cameras. The primary camera is a 50MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture. This is combined witha a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, housed in the giant notch is an 8MP front camera.
The phone only supports 4G connectivity and does not have 5G support or Wi-Fi 6. It runs on Huawei's EMUI 13. It does come with Bluetooth 5.0 and charges with a USB-C port. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack either.
The Nova Y91 comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.
The smartphone has been announced in Moonlight Silver and Starry Black colourways. It measures 171.6 x 79.9 x 8.9 mm in dimensions and weighs 214 grams.
Huawei Nova Y91: Price and Availability
Huawei has not officially disclosed the price of the newly announced Nova Y91. Neither has it announced the availability of the smartphone. But safe to say, the smartphone will not be coming to India any time soon after the company and its sub-brand Honor exited India after it was banned from selling its products.
