iOS 27 Update: Release Timeline, Eligible iPhones, and Siri’s Biggest Upgrade Yet – Everything We Know
Apple is gearing up for its next major software update, iOS 27, which is expected to bring noticeable changes across the system. One of the highlights could be a refreshed Siri interface, along with smarter Collections powered by AI-based organization, new satellite features, and several other enhancements.
While Apple has not officially confirmed the launch timeline or feature yet, reports and leaks give us enough of an idea of what to expect. Here's everything we know so far about the expected release timeline, eligible iPhone models, and key features of iOS 27.

iOS 27 Update: What's Coming?
Apple is reportedly internally referring to the upcoming iOS 27 as a "Snow Leopard" update. According to report, Apple engineers are reviewing iOS 26 line by line, identifying bloat, bugs, and anything that affects overall performance. The goal is said to be not adding more features but to make what's already there work better.
Separately, a new report from Mark Gurman claims Apple is planning a major Siri revamp by turning the digital assistant into the company's first artificial intelligence chatbot. The chatbot, code-named Campos, will reportedly be deeply embedded across the iPhone, iPad, and Mac operating systems, replacing the current Siri interface. Users will be able to access the new chatbot the same way they use Siri now – by saying the "Siri" command or by pressing and holding the side button on their iPhone or iPad.

Basically, the tech giant is aiming to replace Siri's existing interface with a more modern, chatbot-like experience, allowing users to type or speak naturally and engage in continuous, back-and-forth conversations.
Moreover, Apple is reportedly working on a paid subscription service called Health+, which is expected to offer AI-powered health coaching directly on the iPhone. The iOS 27 update is also said to bring several new satellite-based capabilities, including Apple Maps via satellite and the ability to send photos over a satellite connection.
The next-gen software update will further refine iOS 26's Liquid Glass interface based on real-world user feedback. These refinements could focus on improved animation consistency, better visual hierarchy, and enhanced Lock Screen stability.
Additionally, Apple is expected to roll out smarter Collections with AI-powered organisation, along with improvements to Shared Albums and more accurate search functionality using natural language. Since these all are speculations, we'd suggest our readers take this with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for the official confirmation.
