While the iPhone 15 launch is still quite some time away, leaked renders have started showing up revealing the design of the upcoming offerings from Apple. As per a new report, the iPhone 15 Plus has now been leaked showing off the upcoming device in all its glory.

iPhone 15 Plus Design Leaked

The iPhone 15 Plus CAD renders have been leaked by 9to5Mac based on inputs given by Apple's partners in the supply chain as it prepares to manufacture the upcoming iPhones. The same publication previously leaked CAD renders of the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Pro.

iPhone 15 Plus CAD Renders Leaked

CAD renders, known to be an accurate representation of the industrial design, reveals many details ahead of the launch. In case of the iPhone 15 Plus, the renders reveal Apple will be ditching its Lightning port in favor of USB Type-C. Another noticeable change is the inclusion of the Dynamic Island which Apple unveiled last year in the Pro models.

The Dynamic Island is a part of the display around the pill-shaped notch that animates to show information such as incoming calls, music controls, and other details.

By the looks of it, the Dynamic Island, previously exclusive to the Pro models, will trickle down to all the models with the iPhone 15 series. The notch will longer just be a cosmetic inclusion in the design, but an active part of the user experience.

iPhone 15 Plus: What's Different?

Furthermore, the renders reveal Apple will shave off further width from the bezels, as compared to the iPhone 14 Plus. The report also confirms the exact dimensions of the iPhone 15 Plus - 160.87 mm tall, 77.76 mm wide, and 7.81 mm thick.

The dimensions reveal the upcoming iPhone 15 Plus will be slightly taller and narrower, but thicker than the iPhone 14 Plus. The camera bump on the back is also thicker than its predecessor. Additionally, the renders reveal the edges will be rounded off even more.

The Plus variant, brought back in the iPhone 14 series, is one of Apple's least popular offerings, as per multiple reports. The iPhone 14 Plus has seen declined shipments, forcing the company to cut production, but it remains one of the popular models in markets like India where a big screen is preferred by many, without the additional cost of the Pro moniker.

Looks like Apple will continue on with the offering despite its low popularity. However, with changes like USB-C and Dynamic Island, there will be more reasons for users to consider the Plus model. But will that be enough? That remains to be seen.
