iPhone 15 Pro Renders: Curvier Design, USB-C Port, Thin Bezels

Apple's next generation of iPhones, the iPhone 15, will be released in September this year. Ahead of its release, new renders of the iPhone Pro have surfaced, indicating that the California-based company has big plans for this year's iPhones.

The new renders are CAD-based and created by popular 3D-artist Ian Zelbo, who collaborated with 9To5Mac to show the world the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro. Let's look at these renders to see the changes coming to the iPhone Pro.

iPhone 15 Pro to Finally Ditch the Lightning Port

The most significant change on the new iPhone 15 Pro, as per the renders, happens to be the switch from Apple's standard Lightning port to a new USB-C port. This shift has been speculated for some time now, and ever since the EU passed legislation mandating the USB-C port on all smartphones, it was only a matter of time before Apple followed suit. However, in typical Apple fashion, this change comes with few limitations, such as the USB-C port on the iPhones could support different data speeds for the iPhone 15 Pro and regular iPhone 15 models, and the iPhone 15 series could support only MFI-certified accessories.

Nonetheless, Apple's adoption of the USB-C standard is a great step forward and will undoubtedly aid in making the USB-C charging standard universal.

iPhone 15 Pro to Have Thinner Bezels and Curvier Edges

Compared to the previous iPhone models, the iPhone 15 Pro appears to have a curvier design, as per the render, with rounded edges on both the rear glass and the frame. If this change holds true, it will improve the phone's grip and make it much easier to hold the iPhone. Additionally, the bezels on the newer model are likely to be thinner than on the 14 Pro. Though the display size remains at 6.1 inches, the thinner bezels of the iPhone 15 Pro will provide more screen real estate.

iPhone 15 to Feature Capacitive Volume Rockers and a Thicker Camera Bump

Another significant change revealed by the renders is the absence of physical volume rocker buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro. These rumors that Apple would get rid of the physical volume buttons on its new iPhone series in favor of a new solid-state design, have been floating around for quite some time.

The iPhone 15 Pro's camera bump also appears bigger than on its predecessor's. This increase in the size of the camera bump may be due to larger sensors, so it's likely that this change could bring camera improvements.

The iPhone 15's release date is still a long way off, so take these renders with a grain of salt because things could change dramatically over time.
