iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max To Feature Larger Displays And New Camera Sensor, Claims Leak

Apple should launch the Apple iPhone 15 series in the third quarter of this year. Even before these premium iOS smartphones arrive, rumors and leaks about the iPhone 16 series have started trickling in.

The latest leak about the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max claim Apple is going even bigger in terms of the display as well as optics. Let's check out the latest rumors about the iPhone 16 series, especially about the Pro and the Pro Max iterations.

Apple To Make iPhone Pro And Pro Max Models Bigger

Apple has been gradually increasing the sizes of the displays of its iPhone devices. Most iOS smartphones already have screens larger than 6 inches.

According to the latest leaks, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will sport the biggest display in an iPhone ever. Apple is also likely to introduce a new camera sensor next year in the Pro models.

The regular or non-Pro iPhone models should ship with 6.1 and 6.7-inch panels respectively. These sizes would be identical to the upcoming iPhone 15.

Apple plans to increase the display size of its two Pro iPhones next year by "a couple of tenths of an inch diagonally," claims a new leak. Accordingly, The iPhone 16 Pro would have a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max is tipped to have a 6.7-inch display.

If the leak is true, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature the biggest display in an iPhone ever. Needless to add, such a display will make Apple's smartphones more in line with the equivalent premium Android smartphones offered by Samsung, Xiaomi, Sony, and others.

Larger Displays Would Allow Bigger Camera And Battery?

Larger displays also increase the size of any smartphone as the bezels have been getting increasingly narrow. This makes additional space for better hardware.

Incidentally, the latest leak about the larger display corroborates with a recent report from DSCC's Ross Young, who claimed that the 16 Pro models next year will sport 6.3 and 6.7-inch displays.

Additionally, the CAD renders of the top-end 16 Pro Max too had pointed to similarly increased dimensions. The leaked renders revealed that the 16 Pro Max will have a height of 165.0mm and be 77.2mm wide. The 15 Pro Max, which is likely to sport a 6.7-inch display, will be 159.8mm tall and 76.7mm wide.

Apple would also utilize the space generated by the larger displays to pack better imaging hardware. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is rumored to be packing a new Periscope camera technology, tipped to offer up to 6X optical zoom. The same hardware may be embedded inside the non-Pro iPhone 16 models.
