iPhone 16 Pro to Feature Periscope Cameras and Larger Displays: Report

Rumors about the iPhone 16 series are already circulating online, even before the iPhone 15 makes its debut later this fall. According to the latest rumor, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Plus will feature larger display sizes to accommodate the periscope camera lens.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated in his Medium blog that the iPhone 16 Pro will be slightly larger than the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 Pro to make space for a periscope lens.

Kuo claims that both the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the iPhone 16 Pro will get periscope sensors with 5 to 6x optical zoom. Meanwhile, only the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to get the premium feature. He adds that Cowell Electronics will supply the parts for the iPhone 16's periscope.

This rumor is in line with an earlier report by display analyst Ross Young, who claimed that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will get larger displays. Rumors suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro will get a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will sport a 6.9-inch display.

To compare, the iPhone 14 Pro measures 6.1 inches and the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch display. That's a difference of 0.2 inches between the two generations of iPhones.

In addition, the iPhone 16 series will likely feature solid-state buttons. These buttons were initially expected to feature in the iPhone 15 lineup, however, rumors suggest that the iPhone 16 may get it instead, owing to technical issues.

iPhone 15 Rumors

The iPhone 15 lineup is said to comprise the iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. All three models will get the Dynamic Island feature.

Meanwhile, only the Pro versions will get 120Hz ProMotion support. Additionally, they will be equipped with new Sony sensors. The iPhone 15 Pro Max could feature a periscope lens with up to 6x optical zoom.
