Apple’s Upcoming Lineup: iPhone SE 4 Delayed to Next Week, MacBook Air M4 Launch “Within Weeks”

Apple's long-awaited iPhone SE 4 was widely expected to launch this week, but the event never happened. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the launch has now been pushed to next week, though Apple has yet to make an official announcement.

The delay comes amid a busy schedule for Apple, with other product announcements reportedly in the pipeline. Gurman also hinted at a "smaller announcement" from Apple tomorrow, though details remain unclear. Additionally, the company is expected to introduce a new M4-powered MacBook Air in the coming weeks.

iPhone SE 4: A Major Upgrade in the Budget iPhone Lineup

The iPhone SE 4 is shaping up to be one of the biggest updates in the SE series. Apple's budget-friendly iPhone, last updated in 2022, is expected to see several significant changes, making it a notable leap forward.

One of the most anticipated upgrades is a redesigned 6.1-inch display, replacing the 4.7-inch screen from the previous model. This change means the iPhone SE 4 will move away from its old-school Touch ID setup and adopt Face ID, following in the footsteps of Apple's mainstream iPhones.

The device is expected to mirror the iPhone 14's design, featuring flat edges and a notch housing the Face ID sensors and selfie camera. However, Apple appears to be reserving Dynamic Island for its higher-end models.

USB-C, Apple Intelligence, and a More Powerful Chip

Apple is also rumored to be replacing the Lightning port with USB-C, in line with its broader transition across iPhones and iPads. This shift not only aligns with EU regulations but also brings the SE model closer to Apple's current-gen devices.

Under the hood, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature the A18 chip, the same processor that powers the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus. Additionally, it is expected to come with Apple Intelligence, Apple's AI-powered enhancements that debuted with iOS 18.

MacBook Air M4 Also in the Pipeline

Alongside the iPhone SE 4, Apple is reportedly preparing to launch the next-generation MacBook Air featuring the M4 chip. While the SE 4 is expected next week, the MacBook Air is likely to be announced within weeks, potentially in March.

Apple also has an announcement planned for the Vision Pro, though details on that remain limited.

With the iPhone SE 4's launch now set for next week, it won't be long before we get official confirmation from Apple. Given the major design and hardware changes, this could be one of the most impactful updates in the SE lineup yet.
