iQOO 12 5G Will Ship with Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14

The iQOO 12 5G is set to make its debut in India next month. The handset will debut as the first smartphone to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in India.

Ahead of the launch, the company confirmed that the iQOO 12 5G will run Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 out of the box. It is worth noting that both the iQOO 12 5G and iQOO 12 Pro have already been released in China.

iQOO 12 Launch Date in India

The iQOO 12 5G launch date in India is set for December 12, 2023. After its launch in the country, the iQOO 12 5G will go on sale through Amazon India, with a product page for device already set up on the e-commerce website.

We believe that the iQOO 12 5G price in India could start from anywhere between Rs 60,000 to Rs 70,000. The iQOO 12 5G releasing in India will feature the same specifications as its Chinese counterpart, which should give us an in-depth look at the device.

iQOO 12 5G Specifications

The iQOO 12 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Accompanying the Snapdragon SoC is a dedicated e-sports Q1 chip for an enhanced gaming experience. The handset also has a large vapor chamber and a four-zone cooling system for improved heat dissipation.

The iQOO 12 sports a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and HDR support. The panel boasts a 144Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz High frequency PWM dimming. Additionally, the screen has a pixel density of 452 PPI and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The iQOO 12 also packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

For optics, the iQOO 12 boasts a triple-camera setup with a 50 MP 1/1.3-inch light tracing primary sensor. The main camera is paired with a 50 MP ultrawide lens and a 64 MP periscope-telephoto sensor with an f/2.57 aperture, OIS support, and 100x digital zoom. Up front, there's a 16 MP selfie camera with an f/2.45 aperture.

The iQOO 12 runs OriginOS 4 developed based on Android 14. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 7, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and more. The white model of the iQOO 12 boasts a Porcelain enamel textured glass design, while the black model uses a Fluorite AG glass back. Lastly, the red model features a leather finish with a wind imprint texture.
