iQOO 13 Starts Getting OriginOS 6 Update With Android 16: What’s New And How To Install

The iQOO 13 has started receiving the much-awaited OriginOS 6 update, and it’s now rolling out to users in phases. The update weighs in at around 4.05GB, so it’s a fairly hefty download.

We’ve already received the update on our iQOO 13, and it’s based on Android 16.

Performance Changes Under The Hood

At the core of OriginOS 6 is the new Origin Smooth Engine. iQOO says this improves app launch speeds, stabilizes frame rates, and significantly boosts data loading speeds. The company also highlights smoother system animations, thanks to changes in rendering and system resource management.

These upgrades are aimed at improving overall responsiveness, especially during multitasking and extended usage, rather than introducing headline-grabbing visual changes.

Subtle Design Updates Across The UI

OriginOS 6 introduces refreshed animations and cleaner transitions across the system. Lock screen and home screen customization options have been expanded, adaptive app folders are easier to organize, and built-in apps like iManager and Weather have received layout and animation updates.

The overall look remains familiar to existing iQOO users, with the focus clearly on refinement rather than a full redesign.

Origin Island And New AI Features

A notable addition is Origin Island, a new contextual hub designed to surface quick actions and live updates based on what’s on your screen. Simple actions like copying a phone number or meeting details can now trigger relevant shortcuts instantly.

The update also brings a range of AI-focused tools, including Copy and Go, Drag and Go, AI Retouch Suite, Smart Call Assistant, and Gemini Live. These features are positioned to reduce friction in everyday tasks like sharing content, editing photos, or handling calls.
