iQOO 15 India Launch Date Could Be Announced on Sept 26: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Origin OS 6 Expected
Update: iQOO has confirmed that its upcoming flagship will pack a 2K "Everest" Samsung OLED panel with 144Hz refresh rate and the new in-house Q3 chip, bringing ray tracing, super-resolution, and major gaming performance boosts.
The iQOO 15 has been steadily building buzz, and now a new tip suggests we may soon get clarity on its India launch. According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, iQOO India could announce the phone’s launch date on September 26. It’s worth noting that this date isn’t the actual launch—it’s when the company might reveal the timeline.
Adding to the anticipation, the iQOO 15 is rumored to be the first phone to debut with Origin OS 6 in India, Vivo and iQOO’s new software skin based on Android 16.

What’s Happening This Week
The timing lines up with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, which kicks off tomorrow at 6 AM IST. The event will bring the official unveiling of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm’s next flagship chip. The iQOO 15 is expected to be among the first phones powered by it, so an announcement around the same time would make sense.
A Look at iQOO 15’s Hardware
Leaks and teasers already give us a decent picture of what to expect. The phone is said to feature a 6.85-inch 2K AMOLED LTPO panel with up to 6,000 nits of peak brightness, anti-glare coating, and ultra-thin bezels. Early reports even suggest it could rival Apple’s Pro Max displays in terms of brightness.
On the camera front, the iQOO 15 is rumored to house a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom inside a large circular module. Other expected features include:
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset
- Up to 12GB RAM
- 7,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging and wireless support
- Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
- 8K vapor chamber cooling system
- Dedicated Q3 gaming chip
With this mix of specs, iQOO appears to be aiming squarely at the ultra-flagship segment.
Origin OS 6
Alongside hardware, the software shift is a big story. iQOO 15 may become the first phone in India to ship with Origin OS 6, replacing the older Funtouch OS skin. Origin OS 6, built on Android 16, promises smoother navigation, smarter AI integration, and more customization. Vivo and iQOO have already confirmed a beta rollout will start soon.
