iQOO 15 Ultra Launch Timeline Tipped Again, Could Arrive Later Than Expected
If you’ve been waiting for the iQOO 15 Ultra, you might need a bit more patience. A new comment from a well-known Weibo tipster suggests that the ultra-premium model may not be arriving as planned, hinting at a possible delay behind the scenes.

The remark came up in response to a direct question about the iQOO 15 Ultra’s release timing. The answer was short and vague, saying the phone “seems to have been delayed.”
The iQOO 15 Is Already Doing The Heavy Lifting
iQOO officially launched the standard iQOO 15 on October 20, and it didn’t exactly hold back (review). The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and also includes iQOO’s dedicated Q3 gaming chip, reinforcing the brand’s performance-focused approach.
The hardware list is already packed. There’s a 3x telephoto camera, a redesigned camera module, and a sizeable 7,000mAh battery. On the front, the phone uses a Samsung 2K M14 OLED panel that can hit up to 2,600 nits in high-brightness mode, with peak brightness going as high as 6,000 nits. To keep things cool, iQOO added an 8K vapor chamber cooling system, which it claims is the largest VC setup the brand has used so far.
Put simply, the regular iQOO 15 already covers most of the boxes you’d expect from a modern flagship.
So, Where Does The “Ultra” Fit In?
That’s the big question. The Ultra tag usually signals something more specialised, often better camera hardware or a tighter focus on a specific use case. In iQOO’s case, many expected the 15 Ultra to lean harder into imaging or refinement rather than raw performance, which the standard model already handles well.
With the new delay chatter, it’s possible iQOO is still deciding how much room there really is for an Ultra model this cycle. It could also be a timing issue, especially if the company wants a clearer separation between its flagship launches.
Another iQOO Phone in the Works
While the iQOO 15 Ultra remains in limbo, the company doesn’t appear to be slowing down elsewhere. As we recently covered, iQOO is tipped to be working on the iQOO Z11 Turbo Pro, a performance-focused Z-series phone that could launch soon.
