iQOO 16, 16 Ultra Specs Leaked Ahead of Launch: 165Hz Display, Cooling Fan Tipped

Leaks around the iQOO 16 series are starting to build up, and the overall direction is becoming easier to read. iQOO may once again split the lineup into two versions, a regular model and a more gaming-focused variant.

iQOO 16, 16 Ultra Specs Leaked Ahead of Launch

According to a tip from Smart Pikachu, that second model could arrive as the iQOO 16 Ultra. One of the more interesting details here is a built-in cooling fan, which is said to help the phone maintain performance during longer gaming sessions. There’s also mention of new gaming accessories being developed, which suggests iQOO is continuing to lean into this space.

A Strategy That Feels Familiar

This approach isn’t entirely new for the brand. The previous iQOO 15 lineup followed a similar pattern, where the Ultra variant stood apart with a more gaming-oriented design and an integrated fan.

If iQOO sticks to that playbook, the iQOO 16 could remain the all-round flagship, while the Ultra version pushes harder on sustained performance and gaming features.

iQOO 16 Expected Specs

A separate leak from Digital Chat Station gives a clearer idea of what the standard iQOO 16 might offer.

The phone is said to be testing a 6.85-inch flat display sourced from Samsung. It could support a 165Hz refresh rate and possibly a 2K resolution, pointing to a strong focus on smoother visuals and responsiveness.

On the performance side, the device is tipped to run on the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. While the chip hasn’t been officially announced yet, it’s expected to bring improvements in both efficiency and gaming performance.

Camera Details

Camera details are still being worked out. Prototype units are said to include a periscope telephoto camera, while the main sensor is being tested between a 200-megapixel option and a 50-megapixel one. The setup may also include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

In terms of competition, the iQOO 16 series is likely to go up against devices like the OnePlus 16, which is also tipped to feature a high refresh rate display and a similar chipset.

Both phones are expected to debut in China around October, so there’s still some time before official details arrive.
