iQOO 16 Key Specifications Leaked Ahead of Launch: 185Hz Display, 200MP Camera, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6
The iQOO 16 is still a few months away, but early leaks are already starting to sketch out what the phone might focus on. This time, the spotlight seems to be on the display.
According to tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo, iQOO could be testing Samsung’s upcoming 2K panels with higher refresh rates. The mention of 165Hz and even 185Hz panels suggests the company may be pushing beyond the usual 120Hz and 144Hz range we’re used to seeing right now.

There’s also a hint that the gaming ecosystem is being adapted for these higher refresh rates, which could matter if developers actually take advantage of it. Otherwise, it risks becoming more of a spec bump than a real-world change.
A Step Up From iQOO 15?
For context, the iQOO 15 (review) already offers a 6.85-inch Samsung M14 OLED panel with 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.
If this leak holds up, the iQOO 16 could build on that with a faster panel while still keeping the same sharp resolution. That would keep it aligned with what the series already prioritizes.
Camera Setup May Also Change
The display isn’t the only area getting attention. Earlier leaks from the same tipster suggest that the iQOO 16 could feature a 200-megapixel main camera, alongside a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
That points toward a more flexible camera setup, though how it performs will depend on processing as much as hardware.
What Else We Know So Far
Details around battery, charging, and memory are still unclear.
On the performance side, the iQOO 16 is likely to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip. Early pricing estimates suggest a starting point of around 5,000 Yuan for the base variant, possibly with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
For now, these are still early leaks, but they do suggest that iQOO may continue focusing on display and performance as its main strengths.
