iQOO 16 Launch Confirmed to Take Place in September: Could be the First to Use the New Snapdragon Flagship SoC
iQOO has officially confirmed the launch of its next flagship smartphone in China, the iQOO 16, in September. The upcoming handset will offer flagship-grade specifications comparable to a Pro model, despite reportedly not carrying the Pro branding.
The iQOO 16 is tipped to feature Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon flagship chipset, a high-refresh-rate Samsung display, a dedicated gaming chip, and a significantly larger battery. However, iQOO is yet to officially confirm the smartphone or its launch timeline.

iQOO 16 Launch Timeline Tipped
The brand has already set up an official microsite for the launch of its upcoming flagship. Moreover, the iQOO 16 is arriving in China this month. We expect the iQOO 16 to arrive in India some time in October or November.
Tipster Digital Chat Station has also reportedly claimed that the iQOO 16 will launch in September. The tipster also suggested that iQOO does not plan to introduce a Pro Max version, as the standard iQOO 16 itself could offer specifications expected from 'Pro' flagship.
And if the leak proves accurate, the iQOO 16 could become one of the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm's next-generation flagship Snapdragon processor.
iQOO 16 Specifications and Features Expected
The iQOO 16 is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. It could also feature a self-developed Q4 gaming chip designed to handle additional gaming-related processing and improve performance during demanding games.
A recent Geekbench listing has reportedly suggested that the handset could come with up to 16GB of RAM and run Android 17 out of the box.
On the front, the iQOO 16 is expected to sport a 6.85-inch Samsung-made M16 display with a 2K+ resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. Earlier reports have also suggested that the panel could use Samsung's next-generation LEAD display technology.
iQOO 16 Camera and Battery Details
The upcoming iQOO flagship is also expected to receive significant camera upgrades. The latest leak claims that the phone could use large sensors across different focal lengths. Previous reports have suggested a triple 50MP rear camera setup comprising a primary, ultrawide, and periscope telephoto camera.
Battery capacity could be another major highlight. The iQOO 16 is tipped to pack a massive 8,400mAh battery, a notable upgrade over the 7,000mAh cell on the iQOO 15. It could retain support for 100W wired and 40W wireless charging.
With a flagship Snapdragon chip, 165Hz 2K+ display, dedicated gaming hardware, and an 8,400mAh battery, the iQOO 16 could shape up to be one of iQOO's most powerful smartphones yet.
