Lava Z91 with Face Unlock launched in India: Price, specifications and features
Lava Z91 follows the launch of the Z50 Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphone.
Lava Z50, the Android Oreo (Go edition) smartphone was launched in India a few days back for Rs. 4,400. In less than a fortnight's time, the company has come up with another smartphone in the Z series. The latest launch is the Lava Z91 featuring a FullVision display and Face Unlock. This smartphone carries a price tag of Rs. 9,999.
The Lava Z91 joins the other Z series smartphones such as Lava Z60, Lava Z70, Lava Z80, and Lava Z90 launched late last year. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 9,999 and comes with one-time free screen replacement and two years of warranty. Buyers of the Lava Z91 can get a cash back of Rs. 2,000 from Airtel. Notably, Lava posted a teaser on Twitter for the Lava Z91 and the Face Unlock feature as well.
Detailing on its specifications, the Lava Z91 bestows a 5.7-inch HD+ FullView display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display has a 2.5D curved glass coating as well. The smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat topped with Star OS 4.2. Under its hood, the Lava smartphone employs a MediaTek MTK6739 processor teamed up with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage capacity, which can be further extended up to 128GB with a microSD card.
For imaging, the Lava smartphone flaunts a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. The camera can capture shots with the Bokeh mode as well. At the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. The selfie camera features a video beauty feature offered by the Star OS 4.2.
What makes the Lava Z91 interesting is the presence of the Face Unlock facial recognition feature to unlock the smartphone. This Face Unlock feature is not the only biometric feature as there is a fingerprint sensor as well on board. This fingerprint sensor on the smartphone can be used for shortcuts such as opening applications as it can register up to five fingers. The other goodies of the Lava Z91 include 4G VoLTE, dual SIM support, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a 3000mAh battery.
