Leaked Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Images Reveal One UI 7's Sleek New Look
Rumors about the Galaxy S25 Ultra have intensified, especially around its design. The latest mockups suggest Samsung is planning to bring a significant revamp to the user interface, with changes likely to extend to various parts of the device's system.
Renowned leaker, Ice Universe, recently shared mockups of the Galaxy S25 Ultra running One UI 7, showing a more streamlined look with influences seemingly drawn from iOS.

One UI 7: More Than Just an Update
Samsung is known for introducing major updates to its One UI interface following Google's release of new Android versions. This year, however, has seen a shift in the company's strategy. Instead of pushing out Android 15 with the anticipated One UI 7 alongside its usual S-series releases, Samsung appears to be delaying the full rollout in favor of One UI 6.1.1-a more modest upgrade.
This is largely attributed to the integration of AI features. Samsung introduced its Galaxy AI features earlier this year with the Galaxy S24 series, and the tech giant is taking a measured approach to ensure AI remains central to its new software experience.
Leaked Mockups Tease a New Design Language
One of the standout features in the mockups is the new control center. It showcases a split notification panel with rounded corners and transparent backgrounds, giving it a sleek, modern feel. The app drawer, home screen, and battery indicator are also expected to receive updates. In contrast, the camera app will move key controls to the bottom of the screen for better accessibility.
New Look for Quick Settings and Volume Controls
A significant part of the One UI 7 overhaul is the redesigned Quick Settings panel. In the Galaxy S25 Ultra mockups, separate tiles for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, styled as "squircles," give a sense of symmetry. A 4x2 layout for toggles allows users to quickly access eight essential functions, with the option to expand the grid to 16 toggles.
Volume controls will also receive attention, now appearing alongside key screen settings, giving users more customization options without navigating away from the main panel. Device control options, including Samsung's SmartView feature, will be more accessible, simplifying the experience for users who rely on connected devices like smart TVs.
A Beta Test and Public Rollout
Samsung plans to release a beta version of One UI 7 by the end of 2024. Following the launch of the Galaxy S25, the public rollout for One UI 7 is expected to begin in early 2025.
