Lenovo ZUK Edge to be Announced on December 20, Confirms CEO

The Lenovo ZUK Edge might feature a dual-edge display.

    ZUK Mobile, Lenovo's sub-brand is holding an event in China on December 20, where the company is going to launch the Lenovo ZUK Edge smartphone, which has been making waves on the internet from last 15 days. The news was confirmed by the company's CEO Cheng Cheng itself.

    The smartphone was earlier listed in Chinese TENAA certification site, where we got to see how the smartphone looks along with its specifications as well. Diving into the leaked specifications, the Lenovo ZUK Edge is also expected to come with a bigger 5.5-inch display, which we have seen with the ZUK Z1 released more than a year ago.

    Under-the-hood, it is expected to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset along with 4GB/6GB of RAM. There might be three variants of the phone with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Camera wise, the ZUK Edge might come with a 13MP rear camera sensor along with an 8MP sensor on the front.

    According to a previous leak that surfaced online, the ZUK Edge will have thin bezels, same as the Xiaomi Mi Mix, but it wasn't confirmed by the company yet. Going by the smartphone's name, we are expecting it to feature dual edge display same as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

    There will be a front-facing fingerprint scanner, and the smartphone will boot Android Nougat based ZUI out-of-the-box. And, ZUK might even pack the U-Touch features seen on the Lenovo Z2 Plus. A 3000mAh battery will back the entire package.

    As of now, we don't have any official information regarding the pricing of the smartphone, but rumors are saying that ZUK will price the phone at Yuan 1824 (approx. Rs. 18,000).
