LG G6 Lite to launch in India at Rs. 25,000; features and specifications
Notably, the only difference LG G6 Lite will have with the LG G6, is the internal storage capacity, as the former will come with lower storage.
South Korean manufacturer LG has apparently revised its entire strategy when it comes to smartphone launches in 2018. The company's CEO has already confirmed at CES 2018 that instead of launching smartphones on a yearly schedule, LG will launch smartphones only when it is needed. And according to recent reports, the company will not unveil the LG G7 at MWC 2018 in February.
While we may not see the LG G6's successor getting launched anytime soon, a new report from PhoneRadar has revealed an interesting information. According to the publication, LG is currently planning to launch a stripped-down version of its G6 smartphone in India. This new model is said to called either LG G6 Lite or LG G6 Compact.
The report further reveals, the alleged LG G6 Lite will be priced aggressively around Rs. 25,000. Notably, the only difference it will have with the LG G6, is the internal storage capacity. Just to remind you, the LG G6 was launched in India with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
While the report doesn't reveal what will be storage capacity of the LG G6 Lite, the smartphone is likely to feature 32GB of default storage. Other than that, the build quality and rest of the specifications will mostly remain the same.
This means, the LG G6 Lite will sport a metal frame with glass on both the front and rear. It will be fitted with a 5.7-inch FullVision display with Quad HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. On a side note; although the Snapdragon 821 is more than a year old, it can offer better performance than most mid-range processors available in the market. As stated, the handset is expected to offer 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which will be further expandable up to 2TB using the microSD card.
In terms of optics, there will be a dual camera setup at the rear with a 13MP standard sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS 2.0, and a 13MP wide-angle sensor offering f/2.4 aperture and 125-degree wide-angle lens. For selfies, the LG G6 Lite will make use of a 5MP snapper with f/2.2 aperture and 100-degree wide angle lens. To keep the lights on, the smartphone will pack a 3,300mAh battery inside.
