Just to remind you, LG had launched the Tribute HD smartphone back in October 2016. The Tribute Dynasty is the successor to the phone. Talking about the specifications, the Tribute Dynasty comes with a 5-inch display that delivers an HD resolution of 720×1280 pixels. At the heart of the device, there is an octa-core MediaTek processor. The name of the chipset is not specified though.

This new smartphone from LG also offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space. Coming to the software aspect, it runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system right out of the box.

The LG Tribute Dynasty packs a rather small 2,500mAh battery that is claimed to offer a talk time of 15 hours. In terms of optics, the smartphone is equipped with an 8MP rear camera that is enabled with LED flash and 4x digital zoom. Up front, there is also a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Connectivity wise, the handset offers support for 4G LTE/LTE Plus along with 2×20 carrier aggregation. In addition to all these, the Tribute Dynasty features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The handset sports a polycarbonate body and it measures 144.7×72.1×8.1mm. Well, that's pretty much it.

The Tribute Dynasty will go on sale starting from January 12 with a price tag of $99 (approximately Rs. 6,300) in the US. As of now, it is unclear if LG will make the smartphone available in other markets as well. However, the chances are quite low.

Meanwhile, LG is reportedly planning to rebrand its flagship G lineup of smartphones to compete with larger rivals Apple and Samsung. A rebranding program for the upcoming G smartphone has already started. This means, the successor of LG G6 won't be launched as LG G7.
