We know that the Moto G6 series smartphones will be unveiled on April 19 in Brazil. As the launch date of these devices is nearing, we have been witnessing several details regarding these phones emerge online. Though all the three Moto G devices will have better specs and features than the Moto E series phones, the latter is also circulating in the rumor mills for quite some time.
Fresh information regarding the E series devices is that the Moto E5 Plus has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking database. The benchmark listing throws light on the key specifications of the smartphone. It reveals that the device would arrive with a 1.4GHz quad-core MSM8937 processor, which is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC.
According to the listing, the Qualcomm processor will be accompanied by 3GB of RAM. Also, it is seen to run Android 8.0.0 Oreo out of the box. The Geekbench scores of the Moto E5 Plus are 653 points and 1835 points for the single and multi-core tests respectively.
Three variants likely
Besides the key specs revealed by the benchmarking database, we have already seen that there will be three variants in the Moto E series this year. Previous rumors have tipped that the smartphone might arrive in three models such as Moto E5, E5 Plus and E5 Play similar to the G series. All these models are said to sport an 18:9 aspect ratio display.
Moto E5 Plus rumored specs
Previous reports have suggested that the E5 Plus will be the most premium one in the lineup. This smartphone is likely to flaunt a 5.8-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. One of the leaked hands-on photos of the device also shows an 18:9 display and thin bezels. It might come in two storage configurations - 32GB and 64GB, which can be further expanded with a microSD card.
On the camera front, the Moto E5 Plus might boast of a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera too. A monstrous 4000mAh is believed to power it from within giving it a long-lasting battery life. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this smartphone as yet.
If the Moto E5 Plus is priced reasonably, then the device can gain the traction of the buyers who do not want to invest more in a smartphone and also desire a long-lasting battery backup. We say so as there are hardly a few 5000mAh battery phones in the entry-level and mid-range price brackets.
