Moto G6 official teaser is out ahead of April 19 launch

Motorola's G6 series smartphones are hitting the tech headlines almost every now and then. After a slew of render leaks, the latest one has come in the form of an official teaser video. This official teaser from the company reveals the design elements of a smartphone to be unveiled tomorrow. The handset seen in the teaser could be either the Moto G6 or G6 Plus.

The teaser video has been revealed by Motorola UK on Twitter. It shows the design of the yet to be announced Motorola smartphone. It shows the presence of a dual-camera module at the rear of the device tipping that it could be the Moto G6 or Moto G6 Plus or both. We say so as these two smartphones in the G6 series are speculated to arrive with dual rear cameras. It could not be the Moto G6 Play as this device is likely to feature a single camera sensor at its rear.

Curved back

Apart from the camera module, the device seen in the teaser video appears to flaunt a curved back panel as the Samsung Galaxy S9. The video highlights that the smartphone will retain the fingerprint sensor at the front below the display. This hints that there might not be an edge-to-edge display. However, the bezels at the sides of the display are believed to be slimmer than usual. The video teaser also shows the Motorola branding.

There appears to be a large volume rocker positioned beside the textured power button. This appears to be similar to the Alert Slider seen on the OnePlus smartphones with different functionality.

Rumored specifications

Though the official teaser does not shed light on the specifications of the smartphone, the leaked benchmark listings and other reports have revealed most of its specs. The Moto G6 is believed to bestow a 5.7-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and use a Snapdragon 450 SoC teamed up with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space. The larger Moto G6 Plus is said to feature a 5.93-inch FHD+ IPS display with a similar resolution. It is likely to employ a Snapdragon 660 SoC along with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage space.
