Moto G6 series of smartphones to flaunt a tall display with 18:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution. The announcement is likely to happen in May.

As we have stepped into the second quarter of this year, it looks like it is time for the Moto G6 series of smartphones to be unveiled. We have come across several leaks related to the Moto G6 smartphones of late. Yesterday, we came across a report suggesting that these smartphones might be announced in May. The US-based retailer had also revealed the possible specifications and approximate pricing of the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play smartphones.

The fresh information regarding the Moto G6 lineup comes in the form of leaked official posters of the Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play by Twitter-based tipster Roland Quandt. These posters do not reveal any key information regarding the devices and appear to focus on the increased screen size and the camera features.

A noticeable thing in these colorful posters is the absence of the fingerprint sensor at the front. This contradicts with the previous reports suggesting that the Moto G6 and G6 Plus will have a front-facing fingerprint sensor while the G6 Play might have one at its rear. However, these renders are not the final ones and there could be changes and missing design elements.

When it comes to the camera features, all these smartphones appear to feature a dedicated LED flash at the front to capture low-light selfie shots. One of these three G6 series smartphones are seen to flaunt dual cameras but we are yet to know which smartphone has such a camera setup. The previous reports have tipped that the Moto G6 could feature a single camera while the Moto G6 Plus and G6 Play could have a dual-camera setup at the rear.

From the leaked specifications, we can expect all the three Moto G6 series smartphones to arrive with a full-screen design featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio display and FHD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. These smartphones are also said to feature a facial recognition technology just like many others being launched of late. The recent report has tipped that the Moto G6 will be released on May 10 at $249.99 (approx. Rs. 16,200). The same source pointed out that the Moto G6 Play will be made available from May 17 and carry a price tag of $199.99 (approx. Rs. 13,000).
