Moto G8 Play, Moto E6 Play Announced: Price, Specifications And More

Motorola announced the Moto G8 Plus in India for Rs. 13,999. At the same time, it also launched the Moto G8 Play and Moto E6 Play in Brazil, thereby putting an end to the rumors and speculations pertaining to these smartphones. As of now, there is no word regarding the launch of these devices in India.

Both these Motorola smartphones run Android 9 Pie and come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Also, these devices have been launched with gradient design and attractive color options. The connectivity features onboard the Moto G8 Play and Moto E6 Play are standard.

Moto G8 Play Specifications

Moto G8 Play bestows an HD+ Max Vision display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. Under its hood, the smartphone employs a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 chipset based on the 12nm process. It is paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage space and can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card slot. There is a hybrid dual-SIM slot, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio and IPX2 certification for splash resistance.

On the photography front, this new Motorola smartphone comes fitted with a triple-camera system at the rear with a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture and LED Flash, an 8MP secondary sensor with 117-degree ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP tertiary depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. At the front, the device comes with an 8MP selfie camera. It gets the power from a 4000mAh battery operating under its hood.

Moto E6 Play Specifications

When it comes to the Moto E6 Play, the smartphone is fitted with a 5.5-inch Max Vision display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. The hardware aspects of the device include a 1.4GHz octa-core Snapdragon 435 SoC, which works along with 2GB RAM, 32GB storage space and up to 256GB of additional memory using a microSD card.

The Moto E6 Play comes with dedicated dual-SIM slots and a dedicated microSD card slot. It runs Android 9 Pie and comes with similar connectivity and splash resistance as the Moto G8 Play. The other goodies of the Moto E6 Play include a 13MP rear camera sensor with an LED flash, a 5MP selfie camera, and a 3000mAh battery.

Price And Availability

The Moto G8 Play has been launched in Royal Magenta and Knight Gray and is priced at $240 (approx. Rs. 17,000). And, the Moto E6 Play has been launched in Ocean Blue and Steel Black and is priced at 198 euros (approx. Rs. 8,600). While the Moto G8 Play will be available from today in some countries, the E6 Play will be available from November end in select regions.

Our Opinion

Given that the Moto G8 Plus has just been launched in India, we are not sure when the Moto G8 Play and E6 Play will be launched in the country. It might take a few months for the release of these Motorola smartphones in India.
