Motorola Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play codenames leaked

Motorola had launched the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at MWC 2017. While the Lenovo-owned company is yet to schedule a launch event for this year's MWC, the Moto G6 series could be unveiled in Barcelona next week. Thanks to several leaks, we already know the Moto G6 lineup will include the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play.

The company has apparently decided to bring back the cheaper Play variant. The Moto G6 Play has already made its way to the Geekbench, and the other two models are expected to visit the benchmark sites soon. Almost every other day, we come across new leaks centering the Moto G6 trio. Reliable leakster Evan Blass has now taken to Twitter to reveal the codenames of the upcoming Motorola smartphones.

According to Blass, the Moto G6 is codenamed as Blaine, Moto G6 Plus as Teller, and Moto G6 Play as Ashley. Although the leakster has not revealed anything else, previous rumors have given us an idea of what to expect from the Moto G6 lineup.

Moto G6

Successor to last year's Moto G5, Motorola Moto G6 will be a budget smartphone offering decent specs. It is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. The handset is likely to have two memory variants; one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage; whereas another one will feature 4GB RAM and 64GB of default storage. To keep the lights on, it will feature a standard 3,000mAh battery.

On the optics front, the Moto G6 will reportedly sport a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 16MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. Up front, there will be a 16MP snapper for capturing selfies. The smartphone will be fitted with a 5.7-inch display with the screen resolution of 2,160×1,080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio.

Moto G6 Plus

The Moto G6 Plus is said to come with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor under its hood. It may come in different variants offering 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of onboard storage. The smartphone will feature a 5.93-inch display with the screen resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio.

The Moto G6 Plus will have a similar camera setup as the Moto G6. A slightly larger battery of 3,200mAh is likely to power the device.

Moto G6 Play

The Geekbench listing has revealed, the Moto G6 Play will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone could have another memory variant though. On the software front, the Moto G6 Play will run on Android 8.0 Oreo OS right out of the box. The smartphone is also likely to feature a 5.7-inch display and a large 4,000mAh battery.
