Motorola One Hyper Announced: 32MP Pop-Up Selfie Camera, Android 10 And More

After many rumors and leaks, Motorola One Hyper has been announced by the company. The smartphone features a pop-up selfie camera, an octa-core Snapdragon 675 SoC, and Android 10 out-of-the-box. The smartphone comes with a capable camera department as claimed by the previous leaks and speculations.

What's interesting is that the smartphone comes with Google CameraX API that lets third-party apps such as Instagram take advantage of the camera AI tech introduced by Motorola. Some notable camera aspects include Night Vision, Portrait Mode, and HDR.

Motorola One Hyper Price

The latest Motorola smartphone has been launched in Dark Amber, Fresh Orchid, and Deepsea Blue color options. It is priced at $399.99 (approx. Rs. 29,000) and is available in the US and select European countries. In the coming months, the Motorola One Hyper will be launched in select markets across the Middle East.

Motorola One Hyper Specifications

Motorola One Hyper bestows a 6.5-inch FHD+ notch-less LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. Under its hood, the smartphone makes use of an octa-core 2GHz Snapdragon 675 SoC teamed up with Adreno 612 GPU, 4GB RAM, and 128GB storage space. Also, there is support for expandable storage up to 1TB using a microSD card with the hybrid dual SIM card slot.

Running Android 10, the Motorola One Hyper comes with a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 64MP Quad Pixel rear camera with LED flash, EIS, PDAF, and f/1.9 aperture and an 8MP secondary 118-degree ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and laser autofocus.

A 32MP selfie camera with the quad pixel technology is fitted within the pop-up module with f/2.0 aperture. The company touts that the pop-up camera comes with a drop protection mechanism as it automatically retracts during a sudden drop when the device is flipped upside down.

The Motorola smartphone includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor with a notification light around it. This feature will keep you updated with the notifications without disturbing you. It has standard connectivity options such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and NFC. It also has a P2i water-repellent nano-coating.

A 4000mAh battery powers the Motorola One Hyper with support for 45W hyper charging technology. The USB Power Delivery 3.0 fast charging tech is touted to deliver 12 hours of battery life with just 10 minutes of charging. Notably, the box comes bundled with a 15W TurboPower charger.

What We Think

As of now, there is no word regarding when the Motorola One Hyper will be launched in India. If it makes its way into the country, then we can expect it to face a tough rivalry from other similarly priced smartphones in terms of camera, battery performance, etc. However, an official confirmation is awaited.
