Motorola Razr 2023 Design Render Reveals Bigger Cover Display, Possible Under-Display Camera

Companies have taken a keen interest in foldable smartphones this year. From Oppo's global launch of the Find N2 Flip to Samsung's plans for its next generation of foldable devices, there's been a lot happening. And clearly, Motorola didn't want to be left out of the party, as design renders of its next foldable device or rather "flippable" smartphone, the Moto Razr 2023, have leaked online. Let's look at these renders to see what Motorola has in store for the Razr 2023.

Motorola Razr 2023: A Bigger Cover Display

The design renders of the upcoming Motorola Razr 2023 were shared on Twitter by noted leaker Evan Blass. The renders show a much larger cover display than we've seen until now, which takes up the entire top portion of the device. The dual cameras and an LED flash are housed in three cutouts in the display. The cover display's exact size is unknown, but it appears larger than the one on Oppo's Find N2 Flip, which has a 3.26-inch outer screen.

When it comes to the main display, the first thing that stands out is the lack of a cutout for a selfie camera. This omission could lead to one of two theories: the device could have an under-display selfie camera or none at all. The latter appears plausible because the outer cover display is large enough to serve as a viewfinder for taking selfies comfortably, and the primary camera will provide better-quality photos.

Aside from the noticeably absent camera cutout, the device's bezels appear relatively narrow. If this change pans out, the Razr 2023 could become one of the foldable smartphones with the thinnest bezels on the market. The absence of camera cutouts will likely also provide an immersive viewing experience.

Motorola Razr 2023: Specifications

Unfortunately, the upcoming Razr's specifications are unknown, but based on last year's model, the aptly named Razr 2022, Motorola may include a flagship Qualcomm or MediaTek chipset for its upcoming phone. Aside from the chipset, we anticipate a larger battery, as having multiple displays depletes the battery fairly quickly.

Motorola has made no official announcement about the device's existence, let alone a release date. Also, take these renders with a grain of salt because things could change drastically.

Finally, we hope Motorola releases the phone in India, as the Razr 2022 did not make the cut; more competition in the market is always good for consumers.
