Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Might Feature a Larger Cover Display Than the Oppo Find N2 Flip

Samsung's next-gen foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, will reportedly launch in the third quarter of 2023. Months ahead of the purported launch, prolific tipster Ice Universe has revealed a few details about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5.
Galaxy Z Flip 5: Size Matters
According to the latest leak, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 might challenge Oppo's Find N2 Flip. Currently, the Find N2 Flip rules the roost, thanks to its outer cover's display size. A glance at the specs reveals that Oppo's clamshell-style foldable device has a 3.26-inch external screen. If the rumor is true, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will have the largest cover display on a flip phone. However, there's no word on the exact size.
Meanwhile, the Z Flip 5's predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 4, sports a small 1.9-inch outer display. Unfortunately, its tiny cover screen makes it hard to read messages. Limited by the size, it can only work as a photo viewfinder and display notifications. If the upcoming Z Flip 5 gets a size bump, we can expect the outer screen to support more native apps.
Galaxy Z Flip 5: Rumored Features
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5 at Unpacked 2023. Since its predecessor launched in August 2022, Samsung's upcoming foldable smartphones will likely arrive around the same time this year.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 processor. The smartphone could feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display for the inner screen. It could have a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
At the rear, the Z Flip 5 could get a dual camera setup. According to display analyst Ross Young, the foldable smartphone may sport a new hinge design, which could help make the display crease less prominent.
