"Motorola lost in the sales channel strategy," said Counterpoint Technology Market Research associate director Tarun Pathak, was quoted by the newspaper. Adding to that, "Realme gave a strong competition in the online segment, especially in the sub $200 (Rs 14,000) segment where Motorola had its strength. Apart from this, their organization restructuring also had an impact," he said.
It is worth mentioning that a new report by Counterpoint reveals that its market share fell from 1.6 percent in 2018 to 0.9 percent in Q3 of calendar 2019. On the other hand, the company is all set to launch its much-awaited smartphone Motorola Razr.
