New Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) is priced at just Rs. 7,390

The new smartphone is an addition to the J-series lineup and is basically a 2017 edition of Samsung Galaxy J2.

    On Wednesday, Samsung had quietly launched a new addition to its J-series in India. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017), the smartphone comes with entry-level specs.

    At the time of the launch, the price of the smartphone was not known. While Mumbai-based offline retailer Mahesh Telecom had stated Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) is priced at Rs. 7,390, it was not official. As is often the case, the retailer is right this time as well. The smartphone is listed with the same price tag on the official website of Samsung.

    Talking about the specifications, the Galaxy J2 (2017) comes with a 4.7-inch QHD (540×960 pixels) Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, the smartphone is driven by a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos processor which is coupled with 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of inbuilt storage space and can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

    As for optics, the device is equipped with a 5MP rear autofocus camera with flash, as well as a 2MP front camera. The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) draws its energy from a 2,000mAh removable battery and it runs on Android OS. The exact version of Android is not specified on the website.

    The dual-SIM smartphone supports USB on-the-go (USB OTG) and it offers with connectivity features such as 4G, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Glonass, and 3.5mm audio jack.

    The Samsung Galaxy J2(2017) measures 136.5×69×8.4mm and weighs 130 grams. Additionally, the smartphone comes with features like Smart Manager for automatic memory clean up and management. There is also the Ultra Data Saving mode which is claimed to help users save up to 50 percent data.

    The Galaxy J2 (2017) is offered in Metallic Gold and Absolute Black colors.
