As reported by NPU, the update is available for download in various markets including India. As is often the case, the update is currently rolling out in phases, so it may take a while before the OTA (over the air) update reaches all the Nokia 2 devices. If you are one of those impatient kinds, you can check for the update manually by going to the Settings>About Phone>System Updates.

The update weighs in at about 88MB, being a rather small update. So users don't have to worry about about free storage space on their phones. In case you are wondering, the update brings in the Android security patch for December. Well, it is a bit disappoint to see HMD rolling out the December security patch in January. That being said, it is better late than never.

Recently, Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global confirmed that Nokia 2 will be updated directly to Android 8.1 Oreo. The entry-level smartphone was launched in October 2017 with Android 7.1 Nougat OS out of the box.

To recall on its specs, the Nokia 2 comes with a 5-inch LTPS HD 720p display. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor running at 1.3GHz. In the memory department, it offers 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space, which is further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card.

In terms of optics, the smartphone is equipped with an 8MP rear camera with LED flash as well as a 5MP selfie camera at the front. The key USP of the Nokia 2 is its 4,000mAh battery that is claimed to deliver up to two days of backup on a single charge. The handset carries a price tag of Rs. 6,999 in India.
