Nokia C22 to Launch in India on May 11

Nokia is set to launch a new smartphone in India this week. The HMD Global operated brand has confirmed the launch of the Nokia C22 will happen in the next two days. The smartphone was launched back during MWC 2023 and is a budget smartphone with entry-level hardware under Rs 10,000.

The Nokia C22 is set to be available for sale from May 11. Most of the details about the phone are already known due to its global launch earlier, and there are no changes in the Indian variant. The smartphone will be available in three color variants, along with basic hardware and Android Go under the hood.

Nokia C22: Specifications and Features

The Nokia C22 is powered by an octa-core UniSoc processor clocked at 1.6GHz. This is coupled with 2 or 3GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB storage with the option to extend to up to 256GB via a microSD card. The smartphone also supports 2GB RAM extension by borrowing from the storage.

The Nokia C22 sports a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a water drop notch for the selfie camera. It has 2.5D toughened glass on top for durability. The phone weighs 190 grams and 8.55mm thick.

As for the cameras, the Nokia C22 sports a 13MP main rear camera with autofocus, along with a 2MP macro camera, and a LED flash. On the front is an 8MP fixed-focus selfie camera. Nokia offers a night mode, portrait mode, and auto HDR among other camera features.

The phone takes power from a 5000mAh battery that tops up with a 10W charger. It has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor along with face unlock. The smartphone runs on Android 13 Go and is IP52 rated for ingress protection. Nokia promises two years of quarterly security updates with the Nokia C22.

Nokia had launched the smartphone in three color variants - Black, Grey, and Purple. It is not clear if all the three variants will be coming to India, but it will be offered in two memory variants. The pricing will be announced at a launch on Friday.
