Nokia G22 Launched: A Phone That You Can Easily Repair

HMD Global has launched three new smartphones-the Nokia G22, Nokia C32, and Nokia C22. While the C-series focuses on durability, the G22 emphasizes the ease of repairability. The company has collaborated with iFixit to help users fix their phones using handy repair guides and parts.

Nokia G22: Quick and Easy to Repair

Replacing a battery on the Nokia G22 is a cakewalk, as it has a removable back. Additionally, components such as the screen and the charging port can be easily removed by unscrewing them, thanks to the new design.

"People value long-lasting, quality devices and they shouldn't have to compromise on price to get them," said Adam Ferguson, head of product marketing at HMD Global. He added, "The new Nokia G22 is purposefully built with a repairable design so you can keep it even longer."

Nokia G22 Specifications

The Nokia G22 has a 100 percent recycled plastic back, and the phone's packaging utilizes FSC Mix materials. The G22 sports a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1,200 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The smartphone features a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. There's also an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

For connectivity, the Nokia G22 supports WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.0. It also includes a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The handset has a 5,050mAh battery with 20W wired charging support.

The Nokia G22 is equipped with a Unisoc T606 SoC, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB storage. The smartphone supports dual SIM and boots Android 12 out of the box.

Nokia G22 Availability

The Nokia G22 is available in Meteor Grey and Lagoon Blue colorways. Its price starts at 179 Euros (around ₹15,700) for the 4GB + 64GB model. It will go on sale from March 8 in Europe. There's no word on whether it will arrive in India.
