Nokia X gets certified in China ahead of launch

Nokia X gets the 3C certification with a few days left for its unveiling.


Nokia X, the first Android smartphone from the company unveiled in 2014 is all set to make a comeback. This smartphone is rumored to get a new avatar on April 27. The fresh information about this device is that the Nokia X (2018) is said to have received a certification from CCC (Chinese Compulsory Certification).

The CCC listing spotted by suggests that the device will be an affordable and entry-level one. The Nokia X is said to arrive in two models with the codenames TA-1109 and TA-1099. Both the models will have a regular 10W charger and a standard 5V/2A charging rate. Both these models might not arrive with fast charging support as these are said to be priced in the affordable market segment.

For now, the details regarding the Nokia X are scarce. If the previous leaks and speculations are to be believed, the two variants of the smartphone might feature Qualcomm Snapdragon or MediaTek processors.

Earlier this month, a leaked digital signpost of the Nokia X surfaced online. The signpost suggested that HMD Global will unveil the Nokia X on April 27. The image showed two smartphones crossed to make an X. It also showed that the handset might flaunt a 2.5D curved display and a metal back with curved corners.

In addition to this, there are concept videos of the Nokia X. The designer of the video has imagined the upcoming HMD Global device to feature a metal and glass build. It was also envisioned to flaunt a notch at the top of the screen and arrive with a full-screen design language. The other aspects we know for now regarding the Nokia X include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual cameras from Zeiss, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.


To recap, the original Nokia X used a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and ran Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. It also came with a 4-inch display and dual-SIM support.

Though there are rumors and speculations regarding the Nokia X, we cannot confirm anything until the device is officially unveiled. We need to get a confirmation from HMD Global regarding the same. If the Nokia X is official, then it can give a tough competition to the other smartphones in the affordable market segment as Nokia phones are known for their durability.
