Nothing OS 4.0 Update: Eligible Models and Expected Rollout Timeline
Nothing recently announced the Nothing OS 4.0, based on Android 16, which brings several enhancements such as standardized components, redesigned lock screen clocks, and a new AI Usage Dashboard.
The latest Nothing OS 4.0 update is reportedly rolling out first to the company's flagship Phone (3), followed by a gradual release to other eligible models. Here's a look at which smartphones are getting the update and when.

Expected Rollout Timeline
The Phone (3) is set to receive the update first, scheduled for September. Since we are nearing the end of the month, the rollout could begin any day now.
The Phone (3a) Pro, Phone (3a), and Phone (2) series are expected to get Nothing OS 4.0 in October. On the other hand, both the CMF Phone 2 Pro and CMF Phone 1 are slated for updates in November or December.
Nothing OS 4.0 Features
As noted, the latest update brings several new features, including Extra Dark Mode, Pop-up View, AI Usage Dashboard, and more. With this update, the AI behaviour will be clearer and easier to manage. Users will receive status hints about AI (LLM) activities and get to access an AI Usage Dashboard for comprehensive insights and control.
