Nothing Phone 3 and Headphone 1 Launch Today: How to Watch the Livestream and What to Expect

Nothing’s biggest event yet—Come to Play—goes live today in London, and it’s shaping up to be more than just another smartphone launch. The company is revealing two major products: the long-awaited Nothing Phone 3, which CEO Carl Pei has called their “first true flagship,” and Nothing Headphone 1, its first over-ear headphones aimed squarely at the premium audio market.

The event begins at 10:30 PM IST and will be livestreamed on Nothing’s YouTube channel.

Nothing Phone 3: A Bold New Flagship with a Shift in Philosophy

With Phone 3, Nothing isn’t just refreshing last year’s hardware—it’s changing its core identity. At the heart of the upgrade is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, Qualcomm’s AI-optimized platform that promises a significant leap over the Phone 2’s performance. Pei has made it clear: this device is the company’s first real attempt to play in flagship territory, both in terms of power and polish.

But it’s the design language that marks the clearest break from tradition. The playful Glyph Interface—an LED-lighted design that became the Phone’s calling card—is officially gone. In its place is the Glyph Matrix, a new dot-matrix-style LED grid located in the top-right corner on the back. Instead of flashy animations for calls and notifications, this new system hints at custom icons, animated symbols, and possibly mini-app interactions.

Camera Upgrades

Nothing is also stepping up its camera game. The Phone 3 will feature a triple rear camera setup, with a new layout: two sensors placed side by side and a third offset toward the corner. Among them is a confirmed 50MP periscope telephoto lens. The main sensor is also 50MP, and Nothing is touting improvements in low-light performance and detail preservation.

While final image quality will be judged in real-world use, this is clearly a hardware-centric response to critics who felt the Phone 2’s imaging performance lagged behind its rivals.

Android 16, 7 Years of Support, and AI

Software longevity is another area where Phone 3 is making a statement. It will ship with Android 16 out of the box and promises a long support cycle—five years of OS updates and seven years of additional security patches.

There's also buzz around the Essential Key, which debuted in Nothing's budget 3a series earlier this year.

Headphone 1: Transparent Design Meets KEF-Tuned Sound

While the Phone 3 is about refining ambition, the Nothing Headphone 1 is about expanding the ecosystem. It’s the company’s first over-ear headphone and it comes loaded with features—starting with the brand’s signature transparent design.

Tipster Yogesh Brar, via a report on Android Headlines, shared detailed specs of the Headphone 1 ahead of launch—and they suggest Nothing is targeting the audiophile crowd, not just design fans.

According to Yogesh:

  • The headphones use 40mm dynamic drivers with PU and nickel coating.
  • They are tuned by KEF, the high-end British audio brand.
  • Features include an 8-band equaliser, adaptive bass enhancement, spatial audio, and on-ear detection.

Adaptive ANC, Long Battery Life, and Smart Pairing

Yogesh also revealed that the Headphone 1 will include adaptive noise cancellation (ANC) capable of cancelling up to 42dB of sound, along with a transparency mode for ambient listening.

The headphones support AAC, SBC, and LDAC codecs, configurable via the Nothing X app (available for Android and iOS). Connectivity is powered by Bluetooth 5.3, and you can expect Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for quick setup with Android and Windows devices.

Battery stats are equally impressive:

  • Up to 80 hours playback (ANC off, AAC codec)
  • Up to 35 hours with ANC on
  • Up to 54 hours using LDAC (ANC off), 30 hours with ANC
  • Fast Charging: 5 minutes gives 2.4 hours with ANC, or 5 hours without

An LED indicator on the earcup shows charging status, and the headphones fold flat for easier storage.
