Nubia Z17 Lite announced: Specs, features and pricing

It has now become a trend among manufacturers to launch a lower-end version of their flagships. Following suit ZTE's elite brand Nubia has just launched the Z17 Lite in China. As evident from the name, it is the Lite version of the flagship Nubia Z17 with watered-down specs.

The newly launched smartphone will be available in three eye-catching color options; Black Gold, Obsidian Black, and Aurora Blue. The basic model of the Nubia Z17 Lite is priced at 2,499 Yuan (approximately Rs. 24,000). Whereas the higher version of the handset comes with a price tag of 2,799 Yuan (approximately Rs. 27,000). Pre-registration for the Z17 Lite has already begun in China.

Display and Design

Just like the Nubia Z17, its Lite version also arrives with a metal chassis. Being only 7.6mm thick, the smartphone sports an ultra-thin, stylish look. Display-wise, it has a 5.5-inch full HD display with the resolution density of 1080p.

Computing hardware

The Nubia Z17 Lite is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor paired with 6GB of RAM, under its hood. There are two storage variants of the smartphone. The standard one features 64GB of internal storage, while the higher model comes with 128GB of internal storage space.

Optics and Software

The Nubia smartphone flaunts a rear dual camera setup, which is comprised of 13MP Mono + 13MP RGB sensors. Likewise, there is a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The camera is also equipped with Nubia's NeoVision 7.0 software which uses a bunch of smart algorithms for improving dual camera performance, zoom, scene recognition as well as video recording.

On the software front, the Z17 Lite runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS layered with Nubia's latest UI on top.

The Nubia Z17 Lite draws its energy from a 3,200mAh battery unit. As for connectivity, the features offered by the phone includes NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 and dual-band Wi-Fi ac and more.
