What’s New in One UI 8?

One UI 8, based on Android 16, brings small but useful changes across Galaxy devices.
- Smarter suggestions: Now Bar and Now Brief offer reminders and shortcuts based on your routine, calendar, or location.
- Multimodal input: You can now use voice, text, and visuals together when interacting with your device.
- Adaptive layouts: The interface adjusts depending on the screen size or orientation, which helps with multitasking across different form factors.
- Privacy controls: You can choose to run AI features on-device or in the cloud. Sensitive data is isolated using Samsung Knox Vault.
- Smaller changes: Support for Auracast audio sharing via QR, easier device service registration using QR/NFC, a cleaner Reminder app, and faster file sharing with Quick Share.
What’s Next?
Samsung usually starts with its latest flagships when releasing new software. Since the S25 series is already on the public beta, it’ll likely get the final build first, followed by the rest in phases. If previous updates are anything to go by, stable builds for other recent flagships may not be far behind.
