Oneplus 12R 256GB Variant Buyers Can Get Refund but There’s a Catch

OnePlus 12R was launched alongside the OnePlus 12 last month. At launch, the 256GB storage variant was said to support UFS 4.0. The company president recently confirmed that it supports UFS 3.1.

Earlier this week, the brand said that people who have purchased or pre-ordered the OnePlus 12R and want to discuss the situation with the file system type on the phone, they can contact the customer service team through the usual channels.

OnePlus also stated that all variants of the OnePlus 12R support UFS 3.1 and are backed by the company's Trinity Engine software. Now, the brand has confirmed that the buyers of the OnePlus 12R 256GB model can get a full refund. However, buyers need to contact customer service before March 16, 2024.

Kinder Liu, OnePlus President and COO said, ''If you've received a OnePlus 12R 256GB variant and want to discuss the situation with the file system type on your phone, please contact Customer Service through your usual channel. They will be able to discuss next steps with you, up to and including a refund until 16th March 2024.''

OnePlus 12R Price and Specifications

The OnePlus 12R comes with a starting price of Rs. 39,999 for the 128GB version, while the 256GB model is available for Rs. 45,999. In terms of specifications, the device has a 6.78-inch 1.5K (1,264x2,780 pixels) LTPO 4.0 AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and runs Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 out-of-the-box. The OnePlus 12R sports a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera at the rear panel. Other features include a 16MP selfie camera and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 100W SuperVOOC wired charging.

However, there is no wireless charging support on this smartphone. Lastly, it measures 163.3x75.3x8.8 mm in size and weighs 207g.

OnePlus 12R: Worth Buying?

The OnePlus 12R offers compelling upgrades over its predecessor OnePlus 11R. You'll get a better display, battery life, and performance. The camera features remain the same as the existing OnePlus 11R. While it's capable of capturing decent photos, those prioritizing cameras might not like to consider.
