OnePlus 16 Camera Specifications Confirmed Ahead of Launch: 200MP Main and 50MP Periscope Cameras Confirmed

OnePlus has revealed more camera details for the OnePlus 16 ahead of its expected October launch in China. The upcoming flagship is set to move away from the OnePlus 15's triple 50MP rear camera setup, adopting a 200MP main camera alongside two 50MP sensors.

The teaser also highlights new photography modes, while previously surfaced details point to a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, a high-refresh-rate display and a large battery.

The OnePlus 16 will feature a 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and an f/1.6 aperture. The larger sensor is expected to help capture more light, while the high resolution may allow for detailed images and pixel-binned shots in low-light conditions, depending on the selected camera mode.

The main camera will be joined by a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and 6x lossless zoom. A 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 116-degree field of view will complete the rear setup. For selfies and video calls, the phone is expected to feature a 50MP front camera with autofocus.

OnePlus is also introducing three new imaging modes. Master Mode is designed to deliver a film-inspired look with natural light rendering, while High-Pixel Mode focuses on detail and clarity. The 65:24 Widescreen Mode will offer a wider frame for cinematic-style photos.

OnePlus 16 Specifications and Expected Launch

The OnePlus 16 has reportedly scored 5,384,433 points on AnTuTu. The listed configuration includes the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage and Android 17-based ColorOS 17. The benchmark listing also mentions a 185Hz display refresh rate.

The phone is also expected to pack a 9,000mAh battery, with China's 3C certification indicating support for 100W wired charging. It is tipped to offer 50W wireless charging as well.

OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 16 in China in October. The company has yet to confirm availability details for India and other global markets.
