OnePlus 16 Could Launch With 200MP Periscope Camera, Thinner Bezels Than OnePlus 15
The OnePlus 16 is still some time away from launch, but leaks around the phone haven’t slowed down. The latest details point toward a possible shift in how the company is approaching camera hardware, along with a few subtle design changes.

None of this has been confirmed yet, but the direction is starting to feel clearer.
Camera Could Be The Main Area Of Change
A recent tip from Weibo suggests the OnePlus 16 may include a 200-megapixel periscope camera. The claim doesn’t go deep into specifics, but it hints at a different approach to zoom compared to the current model.
Separate reports say this sensor could be Samsung’s HP5, which has also been linked to upcoming Realme phones.
If that turns out to be accurate, it would move the OnePlus lineup away from the 50-megapixel telephoto setup seen on the OnePlus 15. That older system focuses on controlled optical zoom, while a higher-resolution sensor could lean more on cropping and computational processing.
Bezels May Get Slightly Thinner
Another detail that keeps coming up is the front design. The OnePlus 16 is said to reduce bezel thickness further, possibly dropping below the 1mm mark.
On its own, that doesn’t change how the phone functions, but it does contribute to a cleaner look. Over time, these small refinements are what make newer phones feel a bit more polished than their predecessors.
Some Features May Be Left Out
Earlier rumours mentioned gaming-focused additions like an active cooling fan and capacitive shoulder triggers. More recent reports suggest those may not be part of the final device.
That lines up with OnePlus’ usual approach, which tends to stay closer to mainstream flagship priorities rather than niche gaming features.
Performance And Battery Are Still Unclear
There are also claims around a new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip powering the phone, along with a 9,000mAh battery.
Both sound notable, especially the battery size, but neither has been confirmed so far. For a complete spec rundown, head over here.
